Hi.

Meet alt-rock’s strangest storyteller. Armed with sugar-coated hooks, existential punchlines, and a penchant for breaking the fourth wall, Francy Planet writes for the creative misfit trying to make sense of their own plot.

Based in London, Canada, Planet soundtracks the heavy moments you feel but can’t explain—with precision thats equal parts comic and brutal. His sound fuses 90s alt-rock nostalgia with modern bubble-grunge energy, delivering power-chord therapy through clever self-awareness. Think Fountains of Wayne and Third Eye Blind swapping notes with DURRY and Games We Play.

His full-length debut, RETCON (October 17, 2025), is a two-headed release spanning both an album and a book—RETCON: Songs, Stories & Separation Soup. The album captures 90s alt-rock catharsis with sparkling modern production, while the companion book serves up sci-fi short stories for fans of Mike Birbiglia, Bo Burnham, and Douglas Adams.

Combined, the album and book form an ambitious project that reimagines the ruins of heartbreak, art, and identity through a lens of humor, sci-fi, and devastating self-awareness.

Born François Goudreault to Francophone parents in Northern Ontario, he picked up the nickname Francy after moving south as a kid. A lifelong person who stutters, Planet found freedom in melody, discovering as a teenager that songwriting was a portal to a whole new world.

Before going solo, Planet fronted the award-winning Canadian synth-rock band Hello Kelly, appearing twice at Vans Warped Tour and sharing stages with Switchfoot, Relient K, and more. Following three releases for 7Spin Music (Sony BMG), the bands farewell album Sweet Nostalgia earned Planet Producer/Engineer of the Year at the Forest City London Music Awards in 2022.
